In between both World Wars, Modernism (1930's) started to rise up until Hitler came in to control and called it ''Degenerate''.
In the 1930's an Art exhibition was held to show off Modernism Art, called ''Degenerate'' to mock the Nazi's opinion on their Art
Hitler ordered the removal of over 70 paintings from a permanent gallery in Weimar
Hitler hated the Art because it was out of the normal and was 'Jewish' in his eyes.
Lots of Art gallery owners were dismissed & fired due to showing Degenerate Art
In 1937, a wide-scale confiscation of over 15,000 pieces of work from 101 German museums were sealed away in a massive depot which were later sold to other countries to fund the German state/the Nazi
Most Artists/Lecturers/Teachers/Scientists/Thinkers & Philosophist fled Germany/went into hiding once Hitler hated their artwork
