This project was given to
the group as a collaborative piece, which was to go in the Assistant Principle
of North Notts College's office. He wanted a splatter style painting, so we
looked into the work of Jackson Pollock, which became our main influence. We
worked in a range of colours, some we tried to keep matching and others we went
crazy with completely random colours. We tried many different splatter
styles/effects and ended up agreeing on long thin spatters and large round
ones. We made a few practice sheets as the canvas we were given to work with
was 40'' x 60''.
These are the two we
liked the most (seen below). In the end we used the colours seen on the first
image below, which were; White, Black, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Dark Red, Light
Red and Bright Green as we felt these colours went well and believed this was the
best 'test' one we tried.
This is another of my favourites, I think the colours go well together with the exemption of the Bright Green. However, this attempt was far to dark/dull for the room its being placed in.
